American Doctors Donate $500K As They Arrive Kebbi State For Medical Mission

Continuing its efforts to provide effective quality service delivery to citizens, the Kebbi state government has partnered with a team doctors from the Moses Lake, State of Washington, U.S.A supported by Nigerian Medical Association and Pro Health International.
The doctors just concluded a two-week medical mission with an average of 500 patients seen a day between Sir Yahaya general hospital in Birnin Kebbi and another in Zuru, LGA. An average of 300 patients had surgical intervention which commenced on the 25th of October, 2016.
The Co-founder of Moses Lake Medical Team, USA, Dr Lateef Olaniyan, said patients battling with diabetes, cervical cancer, hypertension, hernia and dental disease were among targeted beneficiaries of the outreach. Olaniyan said laboratory technicians were also available to diagnose patients in order to ease the doctors’ operations and speed up the process.
On the 23rd of October, 2016, the Deputy Governor of Kebbi, Rtd. Col. Sama’ila Yombe in a reception for the team in Birnin Kebbi stated that “The surgical operation is free; it is an assistance to patients suffering from various ailments who can hardly afford the cost of the treatment".
The Moses Lake Medical team provided a donation of surgical materials and equipment plus medical supplies worth $500,000.00 with the support of a fundraiser by the likes of American Footballer, K.J. Bright providing donations in the U.S.
The Moses Lake Medical Team is a non-profit public charity organisation established to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities around the world by providing medical care, public health education, medical equipment and supplies.
Governor Bagudu has expressed gratitude on behalf of his administration and the people of Kebbi to all stakeholders for their efforts towards making the mission a success.
