Borno State Govt in partnership with Africa's Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E) launches Empower Borno
The Borno state government has embraced a new strategy in rebuilding and combating the economic crisis and displaced indegenes by partnering with the world's largest entrepreneurship organisation; Africa's Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E)
The Borno State Executive council, Commissioners, Deputy Governor and Execuitve Governor sat at a roundtable to deliberate on possible engagements that can be employed to boost the State from the ruins caused by the break of Boko Haram attacks that has lingered for over 7 years; this has left an estimated number of 25,000 lives been lost, Approximately 4 million displaced persons; 70% of whom are women, children, or youths; their livelihood has been taken away from them. These individuals require humanitarian assistance, psychological reintegration and economic empowerment to prepare them to practice and acquire new skills for basic survival. The innocence of children, vibrant youth and adults of workable age have been driven to the lowest ebb thereby resulting in malnutrition, orphans, unemployable people, industries loss and many others.
Both bodies are working hand in hand to better the lot of Borno indigenes by boosting their entrepreneurial capacity through their mainstream, Agriculture, creativity, innovation, increased youth engagement through a paradigm shift mechanism that will ensure that resources are pooled to the development of these structures: Education, Health and Economic advancement.
Borno faces several other challenges despite the Boko Haram insurgency. We appreciate the organisations and humanitarian foundations whose focus has been on the IDP camps; the focus of this project on the other hand is to empower indigenes of the state with the right equipments, tools, training and integration of the displaced back into the society. It would also identify and support the entrepreneurs in the state thereby creating an economic redevelopment for Borno.
An initiative driven by the Africa's Young Entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Borno State Government is one with the magnanimity to attract investors, health personnel, educators and technocrats in rebuilding, restructuring and reinstating the tranquility that once existed.
The initiative is non-partisan, non-religious, non-political and non-tribalistic. A programme that is set to ensure that all in support, pool their skills and resources to bring the calm to the state.
Empower Borno also enjoins everyone to join the campaign, you can support the project in the ways below :
