OnePlus 2 OxygenOS 3.5.5 update enables VoLTE functionality

The OnePlus 2 has been around for quite sometime now and even though it's a great device with lots of cool Specifications, one of the major problem lots of users have with the phone is it's lack of VoLTE (voice over LTE) functionality.
Even though OnePlus has released lots of updates with newly added features and improvements, none of those updates fixed the long term issue of lack of voLTE support until now.

Finally, after the long wait, OnePlus has announced on its official website that it's latest update for the OnePlus 2 will enable the voLTE functionality. But the only problem here is that it's only going to be available to  selected carriers.

Aside the voLTE functionality, the latest update also comes with a lot of added features which includes a new App Lock and Battery Saving Mode, which can be found in the Settings / Battery / More.

The latest update also comes with a  Gaming Mode which can be found in the Settings > Developer Options, and also an additional options for the Alert Slider. Oneplus 2 users also get Shelf optimizations, updated OxygenOS UI, alongside an updated user interface and UI of the Clock app.

OnePlus has also added the December 2016 android security patch to the updated OxygenOS 3.5.5 as well as increased system security and also general bug fixes.

Users should note that the Clock, Calculator and Messages will be REPLACED with the stock OnePlus apps and that is for those who have never updated the corresponding Google apps. But you can download these apps from Google in the Play Store even after the replacement.

Another thing users should take note of is that after updating your OnePlus 2 to the latest OxygenOS 3.5.5, some of the phone settings like device name, ring tones, accent colours and status bar battery indication might be reverted back to default.

Also, for those who might be thinking of reverting back to version 3.1.0, it's advisable to use the special 3.1.0 downgrading version and flashing tool that will wipe all data from the phone. This is to prevent the WiFi connectivity, Network and Fingerprint from being affected. Make sure you backup before going through with the flashing process.

If you haven't received the update yet, just keep calm as OnePlus has already started rolling out the update.
