Terrified tourists were forced to ditch their towels and run for their lives after a pilot crash landed his plane on a popular beach in Tenerife. The light aircraft was forced to make the emergency landing on Las Teresitas in Santa Cruz at around 1pm on Tuesday.
All three passengers on board – a man, woman and 14-year-old teenager – walked away from the crash with injuries.
They are believed to be of French/ Belgian nationality, while one report has identified the pilot as British.
Arriving at the scene, emergency services had to cut through the wreckage to rescue the male passenger on board, who is reportedly in a serious condition with undisclosed abdominal injuries.
The female and teenager were fit enough to walk away from the scene of the crash.
