FG, APC want to destroy Nigeria –Fayose

Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has again accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to destroy Nigeria, saying the current administration has encouraged electoral corruption and other forms of impunity which has rubbished the gains of liberal democracy recorded in the last 16 years.

He said the current leadership crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) is case of the hand of Jacob, but the voice of Esau as the bad eggs in PDP are now being funded by the APC to make sure Nigeria becomes a one party state.

Fayose said that out of desperation to silence the main opposition, the PDP, the Buhari administration has been funding the factionalisation crisis in the PDP to make sure Nigeria becomes a one party.

In a special message to usher in the New Year, Fayose said he was consoled that Nigerians were beginning to realise the game plan of the APC but observed that the citizens could only succeed in checking what he called “the excesses of Buhari dictatorship” if institutions such as the Judiciary and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could stand up and play apolitical roles in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

He predicted that in 2017, a mega party will emerge in the country to give the ruling party the needed challenge in the 2019 general elections.

“If you look at my predictions, the Mega Party would have teeth in 2017. How it would go and how it would happen, l don’t know but because of the activities of the Buhari led APC government, there would be a lot of disenchantment that would quicken an alternative leadership for this country.

“So, they are not paying attention to anything other than power and if you are not paying attention to any other thing, the whole system would come down. They talk about change and every day the dollar is going up. They are not focused in restructuring and putting Nigeria back on track. Their attentions are more on their political foes – using the EFCC and other security agencies to suppress voices of opposition. Even if they hate PDP what about the Nigerian populace that is suffering what is their offence? They voted for them,” he said.“I have equally predicted this in my yearly predictions that our economy is nowhere. Let me ask you where is the engine room of our economy? The Presidency and the APC are now more concerned about 2019 than even the Nigerian economy. They go everywhere like scavengers destroying the political process that we had made a lot of progress with.

Fayose expressed disappointment those 18 months after the inauguration of the present administration; its officials were still in election campaign mode while the economy continued to suffer from lack of appropriate policy direction.

“They think Nigerians are Nigerians of 1984 when they used dirty propaganda to sustain government. They are still talking as if they are campaigning. Recession in advance country doesn’t just come and go like that.

“The same thing the President did in 1984. I am not a Prophet of doom but l don’t know the miracle that they would perform to get Nigeria out of recession because there are indices that show recovering even when a man is sick.”
